Transgender Awareness Week 2018

Often called gay conversion therapy, it's illegal in some parts of the world, but not in New Zealand.

"Therapy" is being offered to "cure" people who find themselves attracted to the same sex, where their attraction is contrary to their own religious beliefs.

Currently the Human Rights Commision does not specifically ban conversion therapy, and neither do the Labour or Greens Rainbow policies.

We need to make all types of conversion therapy ("gay, Trans* etc") either banned or illegal to perform in New Zealand.

The petition has been presented to parliament and is awaiting a report to be completed. Details of the process can be followed on the parliament website.
